[Note 1] By rotating the dial up or down, you can quickly cycle through the various EDID Banks. Once operation ceases for approximately 1 second, the system automatically activates the chosen EDID and triggers an HPD (Hot Plug Detect) event.
An HPD event means that the Dr. HDMI device notifies the source that "the display's EDID has changed," forcing the source device to re-read the EDID and reconfigure its internal video and audio output parameters. Per HDMI specifications, this process takes about 2 seconds. During the active HPD cycle, further EDID switching is disabled; once the HPD process is complete, you may change the EDID again if necessary.

Step 1: Driver Installation
After downloading, open the folder, locate USBXpressInstaller_x64, and run the installation.
Note: If your computer is running a 32-bit Windows system rather than the standard 64-bit architecture, please execute USBXpressInstaller_x86 instead.
Step 2: Installing the EDID Utility Software
- After downloading, extract and open the Dr.HDMI_v0.8 [Driver 4.0.0] folder.
- Connect the Dr. 4K to your computer using its USB power/data cable.
- Launch DRHDMI4K-GUI-1.2 to open the Dr. 4K Graphical User Interface (GUI).

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I restore the device to factory defaults?
In the Dr. 4K GUI interface, navigate to RESET TO FACTORY DEFAULTS. Type "RESET" into the input box, click OK, and then reboot the Dr. 4K device to complete the process.
How do I load a previously saved EDID .bin file into the Dr. 4K for use?
- In the Dr. 4K GUI interface, go to UPLOAD / VIEW CUSTOM EDID.
- Under TABLE, use the drop-down menu to select any EDID Bank from Custom 1 to 7 where you wish to store the .bin file.
- Click Load from File to import your .bin file. The data from the file will then be displayed in the EDID data area.
- Click Write EDID to burn/write the EDID from the data area into your selected EDID Bank.
- You can now select this EDID Bank either by using the physical controls on the Dr. 4K hardware or via the GUI interface under SELECT ACTIVE EDID TABLE.
How do I view EDID data?
- In the Dr. 4K GUI interface, go to UPLOAD / VIEW CUSTOM EDID.
- Under TABLE, use the drop-down menu to select the specific EDID Bank you wish to view.
- Click Read EDID. The content currently displayed in the EDID data area is the information retrieved from that EDID Bank.
